Limp Bizkit To Tour UK Amid $200M Royalty Lawsuit
They’ll play the UK and Ireland next year! Limp Bizkit scheduled five March 2025 giant arena performances in Glasgow, Dublin, Birmingham, Manchester, and London. Like their North American tour this year, Bones, Ecca Vandal, N8NOFACE, Karen Dió, and Riff Raff will support them.
Friday, October 25, at 9 a.m. BST, tickets will go on sale. Universal Music Group was sued for $200 million by Fred Durst this month for unpaid royalties. In a California federal court on Tuesday, UMG was accused of defrauding artists of royalties.
Other Durst Flawless Records artists are also sought compensation. He claims Universal has never paid him royalties. The band and Durst want $20 million in damages, saying Universal owes them almost $200 million.
Before Durst can get royalties, UMG allegedly told his team he must repay $43 million. This is why Universal believes they don’t have to pay royalties. Later, Durst’s team learned that Flip Records, the band’s prior label, pocketed millions by splitting Universal earnings.
According to the lawsuit, UMG is liable for tens of millions of dollars in copyright infringement due to the large amounts of money gathered from Limp Bizkit and Flawless Records album sales over the years. In fact, Plaintiffs claim that UMG’s obligations to them after rescinding these agreements will exceed $200 million.
It also stated, “UMG’s creation of such a system, while holding itself out as a company that prides itself on investing in and protecting its artists, makes Plaintiffs’ discovery of UMG’s scheme all the more appalling and unsettling
From 30 to 40% in prior years, the band’s assets climbed by 68% last year. They feel tricked by the firm since they think this expansion happened without new songs. Durst wants to end Limp Bizkit and Flawless Records’ UMG contracts. For contract violations, withholding facts, copyright issues, and more, the group is suing.
