Ace Frehley Vows to Continue Working on ‘Origins Vol. 3,’ Which Is Scheduled to Be Released in 2025

Acknowledging that he has started working on ‘Origins Vol. 3,’ the follow-up to his cover song collections from 2016 and 2020, Ace Frehley, a former member of the rock band KISS, acknowledged this information in a recent interview with Meltdown. During the course of the conversation, he provided an explanation by saying, “I’m working on ‘Origins Vol. 3’ because that’s the next record I’m putting out next year next year in 2025.” In light of this, we are beginning to make preparations for that and are determining which songs will be included on the album. There is a huge and lengthy list that I have, and we are gradually narrowing it down to choose which ones we are going to chase down.

Before the year 2025 comes to a close, “Origins Vol. 3” will most likely be released. Every year, each year and a half, and for the past two years, I have typically released a record. As part of my record deal with MNRK Music, I have two more CDs to release. The guitarist continued by saying, “And everything is wonderful.”

Cover versions of classic rock songs were included on the rocker’s second album, which was the second of the initial two editions of the album. The creation of a covers album, on the other hand, was not his idea. As he remarked, “To tell you the truth, when I first started thinking about this project, I wasn’t all that excited about it. This was because I had just come off the high of the success of ‘Space Invader,’ which is comprised entirely of original songs with the exception of a cover of ‘The Joker.'” “It was almost as if I was saying, ‘Okay, I’m going to go through the motions and get this out of the way, and then I’m going to jump into the studio for my next real studio album.'” But I’ve gotta tell ya, buddy, after I started the process and started recalling the groups that affected me, narrowing down which songs I thought were going to be greatest for the record, and then started the recording process; I really started feeling more enthusiastic about it.”

The year 2020 saw the release of “Origins Vol. 2.” It includes cover versions of songs such as “I’m Down” by The Beatles, “Space Truckin'” by Deep Purple, “Good Times Bad Times” by Led Zeppelin, “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” by The Rolling Stones, “Lola” by The Kinks, and “Manic Depression” by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, amongst others. A cover of the song “She” by KISS, which was released in 1975, was also included as a bonus track. Among the guests that appeared on the record were Robin Zander of Cheap Trick, Lita Ford, and Bruce Kulick, who had previously played guitar for KISS.

The album titled “Origins Vol. 1,” which was released in April of 2016, made its debut on The Billboard 200 at position No. 23. Its first week of release saw the sale of 16,000 equivalent album units. The album features collaborations with KISS vocalist Paul Stanley on the song “Fire And Water” by Free, Slash on the song “Emerald” by Thin Lizzy, Lita Ford on the song “Wild Thing” by The Troggs, former Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 on the song “Parasite” by KISS, and Mike McCready from Pearl Jam on the song “Cold Gin” by KISS.
