February 7, 2025 is the date that ‘Parasomnia’ will be released. Since ‘Black Clouds & Silver Linings’ was released in 2009, this will be the first album that the band has released with drummer Mike Portnoy by their side. The song “A Broken Man” begins with a powerful musical score, but then gradually becomes more gentle as James LaBrie sings about a war veteran who is battling with nightmares and insomnia. The song has actual audio recordings of veterans discussing the horrible events they had during their time in the military.

“Parasomnia” was produced by guitarist John Petrucci, engineered by James “Jimmy T” Meslin, and mixed by Andy Sneap. These three individuals worked together to create the album. Hugh Syme was responsible for the cover art once more. Sleep-related issues such as sleepwalking and night terrors are referred to as “parasomnia,” and the duration of the condition is approximately 71 minutes. On this album, there are eight brand new tracks. There are a number of tracks that have been released, including “In the Arms of Morpheus,” “Dead Asleep,” “Midnight Messiah,” and “Are We Dreaming?” in addition to the two songs that have been released, “Night Terror” and “A Broken Man.” Both “Bend the Clock” and “The Shadow Man Incident” are examples of this.

A recent conversation between Portnoy and Eddie Trunk revealed that “Night Terror” was the first song that the two of them had written together after they had begun working on the sessions. We not only believed that it would be a fantastic first thing for people to hear, but we also believed that it made sense because it was the first thing that we had written. It had been thirteen years since they had written anything together, and now this was the moment. From the very beginning, this was the first thing that sprang from us.

Moreover, the drummer continued, “And I believe that it is representative of the entire album throughout.” Throughout the entirety of the album, I believe there is a great deal of content that fans of Dream Theater are going to absolutely adore. You should realize that it contains a little bit of everything on the planet. The songs are truly majestic. We also have an epic that is twenty minutes long on the record, and “Night Terror” is approximately ten minutes long. In addition, there is another track that is approximately eleven minutes long.

We are living up to the standards you have set for us. He came to the conclusion that it was as if we had just picked up from the point where we had left off. Dream Theater is continuing their tour of South America as part of their 40th anniversary celebration. On December 7, they will be performing at Mexico City, which is located in Mexico.
