The system of a down has returned! It has been announced that Deftones and Korn will be performing at stadium shows in 2025
There will be three major stadium gigs that System of a Down will perform at alongside Deftones, Avenged Sevenfold, and Korn. “It’s on…SOAD x KORN,” the band wrote on Instagram in order to announce the upcoming performances. This event will take place at MetLife Stadium on August 28, 2025, with special guests Polyphia and Wisp. Pre-sales for artists start on Wednesday at twelve o’clock E.T. On-sale for the general public begins on Friday at noon Eastern Time. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you upcoming summer.
Beginning on Wednesday, December 11, tickets will be available for purchase through the artist presale. There will be further presale sales throughout the week. Beginning on Friday, December 13, at twelve o’clock noon local time, general sales will begin on LiveNation.com. SOAD went on hiatus in the year 2006. Before coming back together in 2011 for European festivals, the musicians had been working on various side projects. Over the course of the following decade, they performed at festivals and headline events. After releasing their albums “Mezmerize” and “Hypnotize” in 2005, the band made a suggestion that they might be working on a new album. However, there is currently no new information regarding their sixth album.
John Dolmayan, the drummer for SOAD, and Shavo Odadjian, the bassist, recently held an interview in which they discussed the possibility of releasing a new album following the release of ‘Mezmerize’ and ‘Hypnotize.’ The statement made by Dolmayan was as follows: “I would not count on a System of a Down album anytime soon.” He went on to say, “It is extremely improbable that it will take place, but if it does take place, it will be because it is natural and the four of us just decide one day that, okay, we don’t care about what has occurred in the past.” There is no difference between us, whether it be in terms of our artistic or emotional sensibilities.
To put it simply, we are going to gather together and carry it out, and it will be something that takes place on its own accord. Due to the fact that the worry that is associated with planning it will be excessive if we attempt to do so. “It will cause the band to become too fragmented,” the drummer continued. In a recent interview with The Sun, Serj Tankian stated, “I would say that if System ever decided to make a record, it would be a fresh start in a brand new way, in a beautiful new direction.”
‘Protect the Land’ and ‘Genocidal Humanoidz’ were the two new songs that SOAD released in the year 2020, its first new music in fifteen years. Golden Gate Park in San Francisco was the location of their performance on August 17, which also featured Deftones, The Mars Volta, and Viagra Boys. Other than performing as the headliners at the Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas in April of 2024, this was their only gig of the year.
