The new song “The Lighthouse” by Stevie Nicks has been released

Stevie Nicks, the vocalist for Fleetwood Mac, has announced the release of a new song titled “The Lighthouse.” This is the first original song that she has released in the past four years. Together with Magnus Birgersson and Vincent Villuis, the song was written by the three of them.

The following is what Nicks had to say about the song: “I wrote this song a few months after Roe v. Wade was overturned.” It felt as though people were saying, “What can we, as a collective force, do about this?” as if it had started happening overnight.

Specifically, I wanted to compose a song. The fact that I was traveling caused it to take some time. After that, I was watching the news on television early one morning, and a particular newscaster made a statement that made me feel as though she was speaking directly to me. She was explaining what the impact of the Roe v. Wade decision would be in the future. The song was written the following morning, and I recorded it that very same evening.

This occurred on September 6th, 2022. Since then, I have been consistently working on it. It is not uncommon for me to tell myself, “This could very well be the most significant thing I ever do.” The purpose of this action is to advocate for the women of the United States, as well as their daughters and grandchildren, and the men who truly care about them. Stevie Nicks acknowledged that this song is an anthem.
