Legendary British singer Rod Stewart has been forced to cancel several upcoming U.S. concert dates due to lingering health issues. The 80-year-old music icon announced the cancellations and postponements via Instagram on Saturday, June 7, telling fans he’s still recovering from the flu and won’t be able to perform for a few more weeks.
The news comes just weeks before his much-anticipated headlining performance at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival in the U.K., where Stewart is expected to reunite with his former bandmate, Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, for a special set.
Six Shows Affected, Including Las Vegas Residency Dates
According to Stewart’s post, six concerts in total have been affected—four canceled and two rescheduled. “I have to cancel and reschedule my next six concerts in June as I continue to recover from the flu,” Stewart wrote. “So sorry my friends. I’m devastated and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans. I’ll be back on stage and will see you soon.”
Among the canceled performances are three shows that were part of his Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Those dates included June 7, 8, and 10, all of which have now been officially dropped from the schedule. In addition, a planned show in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, on June 14 has also been canceled.
As for the two rescheduled concerts, fans in California will now have to wait a little longer. Stewart’s June 12 show in Rancho Mirage and June 15 show in Paso Robles have both been pushed back to September 20 and 21, respectively.
These changes come after Stewart had already postponed two earlier shows at Caesars Palace on June 1 and June 5, citing an unspecified illness at the time. Now, with his ongoing recovery from the flu, it’s clear the rocker is taking a step back to prioritize his health.
Glastonbury and Beyond: Rod Stewart’s Busy 2025 Plans
Despite the cancellations, Stewart is still gearing up for a major moment later this month. The singer is set to perform on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival on June 29, marking one of the biggest performances of the summer. Stewart recently confirmed that he’ll be joined by Ronnie Wood, reuniting their classic rock band Faces, which originally rose to fame in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s.
Following Glastonbury, Stewart is expected to return to North America in July for a series of shows across the U.S. and Canada, before heading back to Las Vegas to resume his residency in late September. After that, his global tour is set to continue with South American dates and a European leg to close out the year.
While fans may be disappointed by the cancellations, many have taken to social media to express their support and wish Rod a speedy recovery. At 80 years old, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer continues to prove that he’s still one of music’s hardest-working performers—just temporarily sidelined by a bug he couldn’t shake.
