It is Dexter Holland’s hope that the offspring will one day come to the same level as Pearl Jam

Dexter Holland thinks that The Offspring will one day be on par with Pearl Jam in terms of popularity. There are times when people question us, “Are you a punk band? ” because we began as a punk band. Do you belong to a rock band? I am so confused that I am no longer even sure what the correct response truly is. Perhaps somewhere in the middle, but you don’t talk to Pearl Jam about whether or not they are a grunge band. When asked by Billboard what message he hopes fans take away from their most recent album, titled “Supercharged,” the singer responded, “They are Pearl Jam, right?”

According to Holland, he followed his views by saying, “I hope one day to attain that level where it’s just The Offspring, but even in terms of punk, I think there were different kinds of punk bands that inspired us when we were younger.” In reference to other punk bands, the frontman stated, “The Sex Pistols were very what I would call like nihilistic, and the Dead Kennedys were very political, and somehow all of that fit under the umbrella of what punk was.”

In conclusion, he stated, “So for us, I believe the idea is that you should always think for yourself.” Take nothing at face value; it’s not worth it. You shouldn’t do something simply because someone tells you that you ought to do it. And then discover your own way across the world.”

The release of ‘Supercharged’ is anticipated to take place on October 11th, 2024. Each individual song is evaluated on its own. When asked about the project in July, Noodles stated, “And then once you have a bunch of songs, then you kind of see where the record is going.” When that happens, you simply attempt to expand on that. It’s hard for me to believe that we’ve ever changed that much. We have never taken the time to record a concept. The phrase “All right, we’re done with this punk rock pop stuff” was never spoken by any of us. Right now, we want to be metal.'”

In addition, he disclosed, “I would say that this record contains at least one song that is classified as metal.” That is nothing but thrash metal. It is referred to as “Come to Brazil”… The metal content is among the highest. I have no idea what the heaviest weight is. In addition, we have a great deal of heavy punk rock songs, but this particular one is without a doubt one of the most heavy metal songs that we have. As well as that, there is another one called “Get Some,” which is a pretty riff rock song that is practically metal.

In order to promote their newest album, The Offspring will be making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on October 9th. Additionally, on November 16th, they will be performing in San Diego.
