Geezer Butler Shares Ozzy Osbourne’s Final Wish About Black Sabbath

As part of a recent interview with Lifeminute, Geezer Butler said that he is still in contact with Ozzy Osbourne. Butler also revealed that Ozzy Osbourne has expressed his desire to bring Black Sabbath back together for his final performance. According to Butler, “Ozzy was talking to me about, when he does his farewell concert – which he still wants to do – He is dying to still get out there and play,” and he mentioned that he is eager to continue performing. And during his very last show, he proposed that the four of us should get up on stage and perform three or four songs together. He said that this would be special. That would be the end of it, the conclusion.”

The year 2017 marked the conclusion of the final official Black Sabbath concert. Since then, a few of the band members have performed together on stage, such as when Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi performed “Paranoid” during the Commonwealth Games in 2022. Iommi, Butler, Ozzy Osbourne, and Bill Ward were all members of the original lineup, and the last time they performed together was in the year 2005.

Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife and manager, mentioned in an interview with Rolling Stone in January 2024 that her husband intends to give two more gigs as a way to properly say goodbye to his devoted followers. Although the specific dates have not been disclosed, it has been confirmed that the performances will take place in Birmingham.

Sharon expressed her admiration for Ozzy’s singing talent by stating, “His voice is still nothing short of perfect.” And despite the fact that he has been absent for a long time, he has continued to take singing lessons, which has allowed him to maintain a flawless voice.

Throughout his life, Ozzy has been plagued by a number of different health problems. The fall that occurred in his Los Angeles home in 2019 compounded the injuries that he had sustained in 2003 as a result of an ATV accident, which nearly resulted in his death. He underwent surgery on his spine and neck. At one point, the medical professionals were concerned that Ozzy might never walk again.

In February of 2023, Ozzy made the decision to officially cancel all of the remaining tour dates, citing the fact that he was no longer able to tour due to his physical fitness.
