A Possible Collaboration Between Metallica and Sammy Hagar Is Being Fueled By Rumors
In an Instagram post, Sammy Hagar dropped a hint about the possibility of Metallica working together. With the statement “Music can make a difference,” the Red Rocker shared some photographs from his recent performance at Metallica’s fourth Helping Hands Concert and Auction. The concert was held in support of the Helping Hands organization.
“It would be amazing for you to record something together; a beautiful gift for us fans of these beasts; real monsters of Rock,” a fan commented in the comments section of the post. The response that Hagar gave was, “Kirk and I are talking about us.” On December 13, Metallica held their fourth Helping Hands Concert and Auction in Los Angeles. The event was staged in honor of the charity. Metallica, Sammy Hagar, and SistaStrings were among the artists who performed at the event.
Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation, which collaborates with a number of different charitable organizations, received all of the revenues from the auction and the sale of tickets. Celebrities like as Slash and Tom Morello appeared on the show, which was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Hagar gave performances alongside his band, which consisted of Kenny Aronoff, Joe Satriani, and Michael Anthony. They performed songs from the solo careers of Hagar, as well as those from Van Halen, Chickenfoot, and Montrose.
Metallica performed two sets, one of which was acoustic and the other is electric. Furthermore, SistaStrings, Avi Vincour, and Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam joined them in their performance. For the first time since 1998, the band began their acoustic set with the song “Low Man’s Lyric,” which was played for the first time. Additionally, they performed “The Unforgiven II,” which was last seen in the year 2015. ‘Away From Home’ by Bachman–Turner Overdrive, ‘Helpless’ by Diamond Head, and ‘Hit The Lights’ by Ament were all featured in the compilation. ‘If Darkness Had a Son,’ ‘Nothing Else Matters,’ ‘Orion,’ ‘The Shortest Straw,’ ‘Until it Sleeps,’ ‘Screaming Suicide,’ ‘Fuel,’ and ‘Master of Puppets’ were some of the other songs that were included in the setlist.
2017 was the year when the All Within My Hands Foundation took off. It does this by providing local relief, eliminating hunger, and supporting educational initiatives in the communities it serves. The charity has secured more than fifteen million dollars. This amount includes $8.2 million for programs that provide employment training, such as the Metallica Scholars Initiative programme. A total of $3.6 million has been donated to the fight against hunger, and $3.5 million has been contributed to disaster relief. It is planned that Metallica will continue their M72 World Tour in 2025, with the first stop in North America being on April 19 in Syracuse, New York. At the beginning of the year 2025, Sammy is scheduled to do four solo gigs in addition to a residency in Las Vegas with his band, The Best of All Worlds.
