DETROIT, MI – Hailie Jade, daughter of rap icon Eminem, is stepping into a new phase of life—and with it, a newfound understanding of what her father went through while raising her in the spotlight.
In a heartfelt new interview with People, Hailie shared how becoming a mother has shifted her perspective on privacy, fame, and family values.
“Having been in the spotlight for so long, I’ve learned the importance of balancing what I share publicly with what I keep private,” she said. “Over time, I’ve come to understand the struggle my father faced — wanting to protect our privacy while also feeling proud and wanting to celebrate his kids.”
👶 Welcoming Baby Evan Marshall McClintock
The biggest surprise? Hailie has welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Evan Marshall McClintock. The middle name, Marshall, is a loving tribute to her famous father — whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III.
“I want to share the proud, joyful moments that mean a lot to me, especially as a parent,” Hailie said. “But I’m also intentional about keeping certain parts of our lives just for us.”
The announcement was met with a flood of love from family and friends. 50 Cent, a longtime family friend and collaborator of Eminem’s, reposted the baby photo with the caption:
“Congratulations. This is the best. WOW!”
And Alaina Scott, Eminem’s adopted daughter, shared a heart-melting comment:
“Obsessed with this tiny human and could not be more in awe of YOU mama!!! Motherhood is such a beautiful thing and you make it look easy. I am SO proud of you and grateful you have Evan.”
🎥 The Emotional Reveal: “Grandpa #1”
Perhaps the most touching part of this story? Eminem found out he was going to be a grandfather through a surprise moment featured in the music video for his track “Temporary.”
In the clip, Hailie and Em sit together outside. She hands him a custom Detroit Lions jersey with “Grandpa #1” printed on the back. Then, she reveals her sonogram. The look of shock, joy, and pure emotion on Eminem’s face says it all — this is a side of Slim Shady the world rarely sees.
Fans were left emotional by the video, with one commenting: “He went from Rap God to Grandpa in the most beautiful way.”
