Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Frontman Ronnie Winter Tells Trump Supporters: “You Are Not Welcome at My Shows”

Ronnie Winter, the lead singer of the Florida-based post-hardcore band The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, is making headlines again—this time with a fiery message directed squarely at fans who support former President Donald Trump. In a recent Instagram video that has gone viral, Winter didn’t hold back: he made it crystal clear that Trump supporters, especially those who identify as Christians, are not welcome at his band’s shows.

“I actually follow what Jesus says,” Winter began in the video. “If you’re a Christian and you’re watching this and you voted for Donald Trump, shame on you. You are not allowed to come to my shows. I don’t want you there.” His passionate speech quickly ignited social media with both support and backlash. “It’s awesome that you love ‘Face Down,’” he continued, referencing the band’s breakout 2006 hit, “but it’s not for you. It is not your song.”

Although he didn’t cite a specific incident that prompted the post, Winter has long been outspoken about his progressive views, especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He publicly encouraged fans to wear masks and get vaccinated, a move that earned him criticism from some corners of the internet who labeled him as “woke.”

“I thought I was pretty clear about all this stuff in 2020,” Winter said, referencing his earlier advocacy. “As you notice on my Instagram, I did not remove any of that stuff from the Stay Woke campaign… Look, man, the thing about being woke is you’re awake. And once you’re awake, you can never go to sleep.”

He emphasized that many of the predictions and concerns voiced by socially conscious individuals back then have since materialized. “Not only has nothing changed,” Winter said, “but everything they said was going to happen has happened. You have done nothing but prove them right.”

To ensure his message wasn’t misunderstood, Winter even addressed the logistics of removing Trump supporters from his fanbase. “If you voted for Donald Trump, do not come to my shows—ever,” he said bluntly. “Not just these four years. Forever. Don’t come to my shows because you’re going to hear a lot of woke propaganda. You’re going to hear the actual words of Jesus. You’re going to see a lot of acceptance from all areas of life and races. You’re just going to see a lot of harmony.”

Winter also offered refunds to any Trump supporters who had already purchased tickets to upcoming RJA shows. “Refunds are available. Forever. Don’t come. Goodbye,” he concluded.

The video was captioned “If you call yourself a Christian please watch”, reinforcing the singer’s belief that true Christian values—compassion, acceptance, and love—are incompatible with the divisiveness he associates with Trump-era politics.

While his statement has stirred controversy, many fans praised Winter for speaking his truth and refusing to stay silent about issues he believes are morally significant. One thing is certain: Ronnie Winter isn’t backing down, and he’s drawing a bold line in the sand—one show at a time.
