Roger Taylor Discusses the Possibility of Queen Releasing New Music Again

In a recent interview with Uncut, Roger Taylor alluded to the possibility of new Queen songs, some 30 years following their previous album. “Brian [May] and I conversed recently, and we both concurred that if we possess quality material, why not proceed?” We are still able to engage in play. We are still able to sing. The drummer elucidated, “Therefore, I see no reason against it.”

Last year, Brian May revealed that Queen attempted to create new music with Adam Lambert. The guitarist stated, “We have engaged in some experimentation.” You simply have not been informed of any of it. “It must be exceptionally unique for us to consider launching it to the public,” he continued. “It is considerable pressure upon reflection.” Lambert stated, “If they intend to release something new, it must meet a specific standard.”

The vocalist persisted, stating, “It must be the appropriate course of action.” I have consistently questioned the appropriateness of presenting new material. I find it intimidating. May has previously discussed collaborating musically with Lambert. In 2021, when inquired about the likelihood of a new Queen album, he responded to Guitar Player, “I always say, ‘I don’t know.’” It must be an exceedingly spontaneous moment.

“Indeed, Adam, Roger, and I have been experimenting in the studio due to unforeseen circumstances.” However, thus far, we have not perceived that any of our actions have effectively resonated. We are not opposed to the idea; it simply has not materialized yet,” the rocker stated.

Queen currently has no live concerts scheduled. Nonetheless, their official tribute ensemble, Queen Extravaganza, will go on a tour across the UK and Ireland in 2025 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’ Queen announced a remixed and expanded release of their inaugural album from 1973.
