Nikki Sixx, a member of Motley Crue, Explains How She Discovered ‘Spirituality’ After Ending Her Sobriety
In a tweet that was sent out not so long ago, Nikki Sixx discussed how going sober helped her discover her faith. The bassist added in his X post, “Spiritually came to me through going through the process of sobriety.” For my brain, discovery is a tremendously exciting experience. Every single Sunday, our family attends church services. Through introspection, I’ve gained a great deal of knowledge about myself. Is it not helpful to have guide maps at your disposal? Let us now watch some football, shall we? To add insult to injury, it is never too late to become a better guy.
After a long struggle with substance misuse, Sixx came dangerously close to passing away from heroin in the 1980s. The addiction was finally conquered by him after a protracted period of struggle. The musician posted a celebratory post on Instagram in July 2021, commemorating twenty years of sobriety. According to what he wrote, “Some people will try to kick you in the nuts, steal your money, stab you in the back, guaranteed to let you down, sabotage your life, not believe in you, and gossip that you’ll never make it through a day without using drugs or alcohol.”
“And are you well aware of what you are going to do? One day at a time, you are going to abstain from drinking. You are the miracle, the one who breaks the chain of addiction, and the one who chooses to make apologies for your actions. The person who has changed the course of your family’s history. Nikki continued by saying, “You will live your life in gratitude for those who told you that you would never be able to stay sober or make it out alive because they helped you become stronger and you know how to forgive pathetic people.”
After that, the musician continued by saying, “And when you see people who are still suffering or treading water or gasping for air, make sure to throw them a life vest.” Because we are giving back to those who are still suffering from it, and we hope that they will also pass it on to others.
Sixx also discussed the ways in which his life has changed as a result of his sobriety with Fox News in the year 2022. He explained that it is possible to be clever, a decent dad, and yet be in a band. Alternatively, you may become an author and reveal aspects of yourself with the hope that they will encourage someone else to view things in a different way. Because of my sobriety, I have gained all of those things and many more.
His observation was as follows: “Being sober enables me to look at life and say, ‘I want to be a good man.'” My goal is to be a trustworthy buddy. My goal is to be a responsible husband. My goals are to be a decent father and a good musician. I want to be both of those things.'” Among the members of Motley Crue, Sixx is not the only one who has struggled with alcohol. Razzle, the drummer for the band Hanoi Rocks, was murdered and two other people were injured in a drunk driving accident that was instigated by vocalist Vince Neil in 1984. He was sentenced to five years of probation and served fifteen days in jail.
