David Gilmour is of the opinion that it would be quite improbable for Pink Floyd to reunite with Roger Waters

David Gilmour discussed Pink Floyd returning in a Mojo magazine interview. Although Gilmour is known to dislike reconnecting with Roger Waters, the cause is different this time. “I put the whole Pink Floyd thing to bed many, many years ago,” remarked the rocker. Without Floyd’s late keyboardist Rick Wright, I couldn’t go back there, and I wouldn’t want to. All done.”

“I’m pleased with my small team right now. We got many offers to tour, but I’m selfishly lucky to have enough money and popularity. I don’t need that stuff anymore. Pink Floyd is over, and doing it again would be phony. Doing it without Rick would be wrong, Gilmour said. Waters departed Pink Floyd in 1985 and hasn’t returned. Gilmour and Waters repeatedly declined to reunite in interviews.

“I mean, it’s not going to happen,” Gilmour added in another interview. “Only three people remain, and we won’t talk. It won’t happen.” Without a record, touring is for money. I don’t think producing a new record with all of us, including Roger, would work,” the rocker said in another interview months before his latest solo album, ‘Luck And Strange.’ Roger and I have had enough of being horrible despots. I don’t think it would make me happier. I’ll decline.”

Gilmour is touring to promote his new record, but a reunion with Waters is doubtful. The tour began at Circo Massimo in Rome on September 27. His next six gigs will be at the Royal Albert Hall in London in October. He will perform four times in Los Angeles, including three Hollywood Bowl events. The tour concludes with five Madison Square Garden shows.
