Eminem’s ARIA Chart Streak Set to End with Rule Change

After 402 consecutive weeks on the ARIA Top 50 Albums chart, Eminem’s legendary run is coming to an end — but not because fans have stopped listening.

Starting September 1st, the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) will limit the Top 50 Singles and Albums charts to music released within the past two years. That means Em’s greatest hits album “Curtain Call: The Hits”, which has anchored the chart since 2017, will officially be moved to a new category called “ARIA On Replay.”

This new chart — a revamped version of the Catalogue Chart — is designed to highlight albums that continue to perform long after release, including iconic projects from artists like Taylor Swift, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, and of course, Marshall Mathers himself.

While it’s the end of an era on the main chart, it’s hardly the end for Eminem’s influence. Curtain Call still regularly climbs without label promos, TikTok trends, or viral stunts — pure fan power.

And ARIA admits that if a classic track goes viral or reemerges in cultural conversation, there’s a chance it could temporarily return to the main chart.

But even as ARIA makes room for newer music, Eminem’s legacy stands tall. Curtain Call will go down as one of the longest-charting international albums in Australian music history — a feat most artists could only dream of.

This isn’t retirement — it’s just a new chapter on a different shelf.
