Metallica Contributes $100,000 to Aid Communities Impacted by Hurricane Milton
The All Within My Hands Foundation, established by Metallica, donated $100,000 to provide disaster relief for victims of Hurricane Milton. The band said on Instagram, “Following Hurricane Milton, our All Within My Hands Foundation is contributing $50,000 to both Feeding America and ITDRC to aid in their recovery efforts.”
They stated, “Merely days following Hurricane Helene’s devastation of Western Florida, Milton inflicted additional destruction upon the area with winds exceeding 100 MPH, three feet of rainfall, tornadoes, and storm surges reaching six feet.” It is a catastrophic event, resulting in 23 fatalities and other individuals unaccounted for.
Over 400,000 individuals remain without electricity due to floodwaters, fallen power lines, and substantial debris obstructing rescue and recovery operations. Hurricane Milton made landfall in Siesta Key, Florida, on Wednesday, October 9, as a Category 3 hurricane. Intense winds, tornadoes, and flooding impacted the state, which had recently suffered damage from Hurricane Helene.
The storms have strained food banks, creating an urgent necessity to restore technology and communication infrastructure. All Within My Hands is contributing $50,000 to both Feeding America and the Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC).
