As part of the exclusive sets that will be recorded at the BBC Radio Theatre in London’s Broadcasting House, the renowned band will perform a selection of new songs from their most recent album in addition to covering familiar tunes from their earlier albums.

The new album by The Cure, titled Songs of a Lost World.”
An indication that The Cure will release a whole new album was first brought to light in 2022, when Smith proposed the concept of an album that would be titled Songs of a Lost World. Following a string of unexplained delays, the band finally finished recording their debut single, “Alone.” Subsequently, the rest of the songs began to flow with an unexpected ease, primarily due to the fact that the idea behind the first track arrived in a loud and obvious manner.
With its overpowering surge of entrance noises and Smith’s almost unchanged sad vocals, ‘Alone’ provided a major return for the band. It led the way into a new terrain, but one that invoked feelings of nostalgia. On the other hand, putting “Alone” at the forefront of such a significant comeback was not always the intention; nonetheless, the minute that Smith understood the significance of the song, the rest of the pieces got “unlocked.”
Previously, the musician provided the following explanation regarding the song “Alone”: “Alone is the track that unlocked the record.” The moment we finished recording that track, I realized that it was going to be the first song on the album, and I felt the entire album come into focus. Over the course of some time, I had been having a difficult time locating the appropriate starting phrase for the appropriate opening song. I had been working with the straightforward concept of being “Alone” always in the back of my mind.
Smith claims that Songs of a Lost World is the most accomplished and audacious effort that the band has ever made up to this point. “Generally speaking, it is a twelve-track album. The frontman informed NME that the song is present, but that it is just partially mixed and partially finished.
Proceeding: It’s a peculiar thing to say. The past two years have brought about a certain degree of change. Due to the fact that I have been left alone with it, it has not always been a healthy thing. It is like plucking at seams; if you continue to pick at it, everything will fall apart. This will be well worth the wait. Despite the fact that I would say that, I believe that it is the best thing that we have done.
Beginning on November 1st, Songs of a Lost World is going to be made available for purchase through Capitol Records. Smith is responsible for the composition and arrangement of the project. Additionally, he collaborated with Paul Crockett, who had previously worked with The Cure on Bloodflowers, to co-produce and mix the album.
